The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches..
Matthew 13:31-32 NIV
The Mustard Seed Gallery, Inc. came into being when it was felt that the Lord was leading a way to present a powerful, effective way to personally minister to the general community of Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
A pottery studio and art gallery developed with a strongly religious focus on art and prayer.
Artist from across the United States, Ireland and Germany are represented in the gallery.
Pottery wheel throwing classes are provided for emerging artists and continuing artists in clay.
Prayer ministries abound at the Mustard Seed.
Small groups and individual gather to pray.
A Prayer Shawl Ministry has developed. Meeting twice a month, approximately two dozen knitters gather to pray for the intended recipients of the prayer shawls. The prayer shawls, scarves and coverlets are gifts of love for individuals in need of feeling God’s loving embrace. They are made with deep prayer, love and concern.
Prayer shawls may be requested for an individual by friends, neighbors, clergy, and religious.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry was established in 1998 by Janet Bristow and Vicky Gallo of Hartford, Connecticut. The Mustard Seed Prayer Shawl Ministry was started in February, 2007.
All knitted shawls, scarves and coverlets are blessed by a priest and are accompanied with the following prayer card:
May God’s grace be upon this wrap…warming, comforting, enfolding, and embracing. May this mantle be a safe haven; a sacred place of security and well-being; sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones. May you who receive this wrap be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and enveloped in love. |
